Family played an integral part in the beginnings of Spivey Interiors. Influenced early in life by her mother and grandmother, Tami was left with an obsession for interiors. Whether observing her grandmother sew curtains and seasonal slipcovers, or watching her mother open and operate an interior design market (“Tassels” in Dothan, Alabama), Tami was continually surrounded by inspiration and a love for making spaces beautiful, yet comfortable and functional. That tradition has continued on into her present day design philosophy.

Tami opened Spivey Interiors in 2009 after working in the interior design business for many years. Much of the success of her business is attributable to the hands-on approach with clients and contractors, which helps to ensure clear communication as her designs unfold. Collaboration is the key to Tami’s design success. She firmly believes that it takes a team to build a beautiful home for the families who start out as clients but end up as friends.

Tami lives in Dothan, Alabama with her husband and three teenage children. She recharges and finds inspiration by spending time at the beach, traveling, antique shopping, and discovering new art and furniture resources to bring to her clients’ projects.
